Program Summary
This two year program is designed for learners who wish to build job skills, specifically in a coffeeshop setting. The following are just a few of the many concepts we cover in our classroom:
- How to be an efficient and communicative co-worker
- How to run a register and make change
- How to prepare for an interview
- How to fill out a job application
- How to understand your paycheck, pay bills, etc.
- How to build skills and perform daily commonplace tasks
*We are a vocational rehabilitation approved vendor. This program is designed for learners who do not struggle with significant mal-adaptive behaviors. Each learner has individual program designed to meet specific goals identified through an assessment process.
Overview of ABA
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis is a research based, scientific approach to understanding behavior. ABA applies evidence-based interventions which are data driven to shape behavior and improve quality of life for individuals with an ASD or other developmental delays. Assessments help identify skill gaps and maladaptive behaviors to target for treatment. ABA is frequently used as an intervention tool for children with Autism. ABA Next Steps will generalize this tool to teens and young adults.
What is a BCBA?
The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) is a graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. Professionals certified at the BCBA level are independent practitioners who provide behavior-analytic services.
What is an RBT?
The Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA, who are responsible for all work RBTs perform.
